ASIMWE KABUNGA | NON EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Asimwe KabungaMr Kabunga is a Tanzanian born Australian entrepreneur who holds a Bachelor of Science, Mathematics and Physics and has over 19 years technical and commercial experience in Tanzania, the United States and Australia.

Mr Kabunga has extensive experience in the mining industry, logistics, land access, tenure negotiation and acquisition, as well as a developer of technology businesses. Mr Kabunga has been instrumental in establishing the Tanzania Community of Western Australia Inc., and served as its first President. Mr Kabunga was also a founding member of Rafiki Surgical Missions and Safina Foundation, both NGOs dedicated to helping children in Tanzania.

Mr Kabunga is also currently a non-executive director of ASX listed mineral sands developer Strandline Resources Limited (ASX:STA) and a director of Lindian Resources Limited (ASX.LIN)

TREVOR MATTHEWS | CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Trevor MatthewsMr Matthews has an accounting and finance background with over 25 years experience in the resources industry including roles with North and WMC Resources in executive-level positions. More recently, his last two roles were as MD for MZI Resources (2012-16) and Murchison Metals (2005-11). During his career Mr Matthews has gained considerable experience managing a number of nascent resource projects through to production.

Consequently, he has extensive executive management experience of feasibility studies, project planning/development, coordination and leveraging capital markets effectively to secure the appropriate mix of debt/equity funding, to successfully complete a mining project.

Mr Matthews role in overseeing an exploration company into production which was valued at approximately $2Bn in market capitalisation was viewed by the Volt Board as an excellent prerequisite. This experience will be valuable to Volt as it moves forward to bringing it’s Namangale project into production. Mr Matthews has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Western Australia, a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

STEPHEN HUNT | NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR 

Stephen HuntMr. Hunt has more than 25 years experience in the marketing of steel and mineral products worldwide. His career includes 15 years at BHP Billiton Ltd. where he spent 5 years in the London office marketing minerals to European and Middle Eastern customers.

Stephen has built on his extensive network and developed his own minerals trading company, which has a strong Chinese focus. He brings along with him 15 years of cumulative board experience with ASX listed companies and most recently was a founding director of Magnis Resources Limited.

Coupled with this valuable board experience, a strong marketing background and a proven track record of establishing strong customer relationships, he is ideally suited to steer the company forward. His role at Volt Resources will include the overseeing the potential off-take contracts and investment discussions with strategic end users.

 

MATTHEW BULL | NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Matthew BullMr. Matthew Bull has a BSc. in Geology and Geophysics with over 10 years of experience in the mining and exploration industry. Mr. Bull has worked in a wide range of commodities including graphite, gold and iron ore.

He has considerable experience on the operation greenfield and resource development drilling exploration programs. His previous positions include consultant geologist working on Discovery Africa's Tanzanian Graphite Project and CEO/Chief Geologist of Baru Resources.

ALWYN VORSTER | NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Alwyn VorsterMr Vorster is a mining professional with more than 25 years of experience working with numerous large and smaller mining companies in technical and commercial roles covering the total supply chain from geology, mining, rail and port, shipping, marketing and sales.  He has held various CEO roles during his career, including with API Management, an Aquila/AMCI joint venture company tasked with advancing the multi-billion dollar West Pilbara Iron Ore Project, and with Iron Ore Holdings Ltd.

Mr. Vorster is an executive committee member of the Australia China Business Council, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a board member of the RSPCA WA. He brings significant project development, transactional and company risk management experience to the Board of Volt Resources.

SUSAN HUNTER | COMPANY SECRETARY

Ms Hunter has over 20 years’ experience in the corporate finance industry. She is founder and managing director of consulting firm Hunter Corporate Pty Ltd, which specialises in provision of corporate governance and company secretarial advice to listed and unlisted companies, and has previously held senior management roles at Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Bankwest both in Perth and Sydney.

Ms Hunter holds a Bachelor of Commerce, is a Member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Associate of the Governance Institute of Australia Ltd. She is currently Company Secretary of several ASX Listing companies.
